 By Road

The most direct approach is from the A3 London-Portsmouth road.  

  • When approaching Guildford follow the mortar board and cathedral symbols. 
  • Look for signs marked Hospital/Cathedral/University. 
  • If approaching on the M25, exit at Junction 10 marked Guildford (A3),
  • then follow the A3 to Guildford.  
  • From the A3, take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital. 
  • This will bring you onto a roundabout.  Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral.
 By Rail
  • Fast trains from London Waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour stop at Guildford.
  • They run at least half hourly and take about 35 minutes. 
  • A slower service takes about 56 minutes.
  From Gatwick Airport
  • Take the M23 Northbound to join the M25 - be sure to take the M25 Westbound (clockwise towards Leatherhead).  
  • Continue until Junction 10 (signed Guildford and A3) and follow the A3 to Guildford. 
  • From the A3, take the exit off of the A3 signed University/Cathedral/Hospital. 
  • This will bring you onto a roundabout.  Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral.
  • Gatwick has a direct rail link to Guildford.
 From Heathrow Airport

 

By Car

  • Follow exit signs to M4 from the airport.
  • Take M4 Westbound to M25 (next exit).
  • Take the M25 Southbound (anti-clockwise) and continue until Junction 10.
  • Come off the M25 at Junction 10 (signposted Guildford A3) and follow the A3 to Guildford.
  • From the A3, take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital. 
  • This will bring you onto a roundabout.  Follow signs to the University, which has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral.

 By Coach & Rail

  • Heathrow has a rail/air link to Guildford - coach from Heathrow to Woking, then train from Woking to Guildford.
    You can take a National Express coach from Heathrow Terminal 4 to WokingCentral Station (Cost £8 one-way)
    Then a train from Woking Central to Guildford.

Travel Time from Woking to Guildford : Approx 10 minutes

By Rail only 

Take underground from Heathrow to London Waterloo. This stage of the journey requires a change of train.

Travel time from Heathrow to Waterloo : approx. 45 minutes

Travel time from Waterloo to Guildford  : approx. 35 minutes 

Walk to University 10 minutes or taxi 5 minutes

Option 1 

  1. Underground : Heathrow to Leicester Square (Picadilly Line)
  2. Underground : Leicester Square o Waterloo (Northern Line)
  3. Then take overground to Guildford.
  4. Walk to University or get taxi
Option 2
  1. British Rail : Heathrow Express to Paddington NR
  2. Walk to Paddington Underground
  3. Underground : Paddington to Waterloo (Bakerloo Line)
  4. Then take overground to Guildford.
  5. Walk to University or get taxi
 From Channel Tunnel
 Take the M20 (Westbound towards London), then go onto the M26.  From there take the M25 (clockwise).  Continue until Junction 10, taking the exit signed Guildford A3 and follow the A3 to Guildford.  Take the exit signed University/Cathedral/Hospital.  The University has it's own exit from the roundabout directly next to the Cathedral.

Car Parking

Parking for Camp Savoy participants is in the main car park opposite the Austin Pearce building.
